Chicken Sopes

A delicious and traditional recipe made from masa. You will fry the masa in a flat round shape that ends up soft but crispy, perfect for topping with your favorite ingredients.

  1. Heat up the lard in a frying pan and place the sopes upside down to fry. Turn them over and spread the whole surface with the refried beans.
  2. Add some of the shredded chicken, cabbage, onion, cilantro, cream, and cheese. By this time the sopes should be hot. If not, leave them for a few more seconds until golden.
  3. Place on a kitchen towels for a few seconds to remove the excess fat and serve immediately with your favorite hot salsa.
