Hunger Relief

Cardenas Markets is dedicated to the neighborhoods where we operate and our commitment to the local community extends past the confines of our stores.

In 2022, the Cardenas Markets Foundation supported Hunger Action Month by donating $50,000 to Food Banks in the month of September. The following food banks, among others, received monetary gifts to provide food and resources to families impacted by hunger:  Imperial Valley Food Bank, Merced County Food Bank, Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County, Feeding America of Riverside I San Bernardino County, Second Harvest of the Silicon Valley, Inland Valley Hope Partners Pomona, and St. Mary’s Food Bank in Arizona.

Health & Children’s Wellbeing

The Cardenas Markets Foundation is passionate about advancing initiatives and causes aimed at improving the quality of life for children in our local communities.

Most recently, Cardenas Markets held two in-store fundraising campaigns to advance the missions of the American Heart Association and Olive Crest. Funds from these efforts helped the American Heart Association’s Life is Why campaign and Olive Crest’s Child Abuse Stops Here Campaign.  In addition, Cardenas Markets alongside the support of its generous customers stepped-in to donate over $130,000 through the company’s round-up campaign for this effort.
